Pediatric Mental Health Care Access and Education Program Expansion Funding Application

2022-2023 Pediatric Mental Health Care Access and Education Program Expansion Anticipated Award Amount up to $75,000.00 Background Information: The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Public Health (DPH) announces the availability of one-time funds made available through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) (P.L. 117-159), which reauthorizes and expands the Pediatric Mental Health Care Access (PMHCA) program. The PMHCA program is authorized by Title III, § 330M of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. § 254c-19) and promotes behavioral health integration into pediatric primary care by supporting pediatric mental health care, telehealth access programs, and education. The aim of these funds is to a). address behavioral health needs among children and adolescents in Wisconsin b). expand the existing reach and capacity of PMHCA-funded programs by providing training and educational opportunities. DHS is requesting applications to support partnership building on a statewide level to address the behavioral health needs among children and adolescents in Wisconsin and provide statewide and or regional support to professionals and communities. Funded projects will advance the following priorities: • Advance equity and racial justice. • Advance access to quality behavioral health education, training and resource support. • Enhance identification, access, and support for individuals with behavioral health care needs and their families. • Foster positive mental health and associated factors through professional and community education and support. Funding Availability: This application is for a one time 12-month period from September 30, 2022 - September 29, 2023. Renewal funding is not available. DHS reserves the right to increase or decrease the award levels and scope of individual contracts during the contract period, and/or reconfigure the program model at any time during the funding cycle based on the conditions noted above or a lack of adequate performance on the part of the grantee. Expected 12-month grant period: Year 1 (FY22): September 30, 2022 – September 29, 2023 Funding Amount: Up to $75,000 Number of Awards: 3-4 Eligibility: Eligible organizations will practice inclusion and may not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, age, or national origin in their staffing policies, use of volunteers or provision of services.
