AWY builds capacity and provides technical assistance to the coalitions under the RPC to support a framework for substance use prevention in Wisconsin. The RPC provides a link between DHS and the coalitions. Coalitions are an effective way to address substance use and related harms in local communities. Coalitions have representation of many sectors of the community to plan and implement prevention strategies based on local needs. Coalitions working on substance use prevention apply to be part of the RPC and the RPC provides them with technical assistance, training, and resources to serve their region.
